I will be there for the season with the exception of the opening round.

Short Course Stock - SC10, DSM, House transponder

Short Course Mod - SC10, DSM, House transponder

This is my first season racing, looking forward to it. Please let me know the times for the races and I understand the rules for short course stock are limited, 27T brushed motor or 17.5 B/L, no limit on tires or other mods. Please advise.

Thank you,

Jeremy

Any tips on transporting Rc gear across the border?

What to bring and not to bring.

Any experiences with problems bringing in gear back across the border.

Of the hundreds of times I have been across to race, I had 3 " Problems with gear"

1: do not describe your radio as transmitter/receiver to US customs, they are edgy with that term. US is more concerned with money prizes than racing or what you have.
2: Canada customs can be a PITA. They want registration of gear. The problem is, it needs serial numbers. I got my Losi T/B done because they have numbers. They could care less about anything connected to  the vehicle itself.

one a trip to Mikes, I stopped at Canada customs went in and told them what I needed. They filled out this little green card and stamped it. No receipts needed. took 10 mins, no problems since.

And if you plan to take a video camera or digital camera across, register it with Canada customs. 10 mins can save a lot of grief.

The only hassle you might get at the border is if you bring your own lunch. They are funny about certain types of food that you dare bring into their country. (PB and J is fine!).

And....get a Nexus pass if you don't have one. They're sweet!

First class is $12, second $10, I think third is $8. Not  a bad idea to bring a couple chairs, but there is plenty of table space. Pretty sure you can pay with a credit card, but your bank card will most likely get declined (Americans are weird about the plastic needing to say Visa/Mastercard).

If you've never been down you'll probably have to buy new tires, as I've yet to see a clay tire in a local shop. I've been doing ok with the Panther Switches or JConcepts Gold Barcodes on my 2wd Truck and Buggy, hopefully trying my new 4wd with Barcodes this weekend. Some of the other guys might have tire advice as well. I think the SC guys were running Suburbs? Not too sure.
