Battery vs Battery
« on: September 29, 2011, 01:12:01 PM »
Some of you may have seen my other posts and i am quite new, anyways i am getting a SC10 RS RTR soon from RCP. I plan to get into the racing scene once i have it. So currently i have a few 7.4v 25c 5000mah Nuclear Power batteries. But i am wondering is there a difference between that and a Venom or Gens Ace that has the same specs?

I dont think you would notice a big difference in performamce. But you should look up Turnigy Nano batteries. They can be charged at 5 C and have up to 100 C discharge rate. They're cheap but of the 15 turnigy battrries I have they have been great. The Nano batts have some special fibre mat inside that reduces internal resistance. Looks the next batts I wanna try anyway. Enjoy the new truck.

I realize this is an older thread but I figure I would answer your question for future viewers. The Turnigy lipo's are a pretty good value, a 5000mah 2 cell with a 30c discharge is about 25$. Pretty good compared to the Nuclear power 2 cell's which are nearly double that!

Where are you finding these batteries for sale for that sort of pricing, most I've seen are around 4200's, 2S and going for $50+

Turnigy and Zippy are from hobbyking.I'm not trying to take any business from the LHS, I always try to support the LHS with all my other purchases, but batteries can get expensive! Especially vehicles that require two.

I hear ya. While I fully believe in feeding the hobby funds into the local hobby shops as much as possible. It is very nice and convenient for us to have parts on hand locally for those times where you realize you need something and you need it now. With 3 trucks being switched over to Lipo, it's going to get expensive, I figure I need at least another 3-5 batteries

check ou the prices on lipos here, the blue packs have an alloy plate on the top and bottom.
i love these lipos and the 40c are cheap. and yes the ratings of these are true, not like others.
make sure when you are filling out your info for shipping you choose  canada. shipping is only 10 bucks no matter the size of your order and it only takes a week to your door.

in my opinion these are the best bang for your buck.

Wholly crap that is a good price.
I've been paying well over $100
For my reedy 5000. No complaints
About them I 40 min or so running
SW 4600 kv 15/87 no heat issues.

Will these stand up to the reedy's
Really the battery's only need to
Hold out for 12 min or do but it's
Nice to know that I can run two
Races back to back if I need to.

It happens.      But I have not risked
It as of yet.

i have used these in my boats planes cars and trucks for a few years and have not had a bad pack yet.
i have tried thunderpower, gensace, turnigy nao and others and cant say i would ever buy another brand of lipo again.
this stuff is shipped from california so it does not take long at all and no duty or tax.
