Open ball diff or gear diff up front for med large tracks like we were running last Saturday.

Light oil or no oil. Lube the inside and dump it out. Fast acting shocks are stable. Especially when there's no give in the plastic tires.

Run your weight forwards the best you can.

Locked rear diff.

I use to run lots of caster. I forget why.

Intresting. I see this drifter thing getting serious when the talk has now shifted to tech and set-up. I like it....

I don't believe in counterfeit-steer faking it. I run a 4wd Subaru. My mustang is rwd. My crx is fwd. I try to keep the drivetrain matching  the body I'm running. Sensitive topic. Lol

Matt appears to be a purist. I respect that. Well done sir!

It's like the D-Box. Cheating in my way of thinking. I would never run one. I have always thought racing, or in this case drifting, should be about driver skill. Sure mechanics and "the team" is a part of it but in reality it is the driver that wins races.

One of the best compliments I ever got was from a Pro racer who rode my bike then looked at me and asked "How the hell do you drive this so fast". Made my day, no year. Ha ha!

I do agree was just wondering since it seems that everyone is running counter steer.
and I wanted someone opinion that's been around the drift seen
But with that said I don't seem to have a problem drifting without counter steer  >:D

just need more drive time  >:D >:D
I like to try all angle tho hehe
the d-box now that is cheating you don't even have to steer lol

I don't hate counter-steer drift cars, etc.  I also hate the fact that it's called counter-steer. :o  I hope that doesn't make sense.   :-[

When everyone in the club started 'overdriving' the rear wheels, I went to rwd.  That was back when everyone thought it wasn't possible.  Everyone thought I was nuts and waisting my time.  I like the look of full-lock counter steering a drift.  I just wanted to do it more similar to real cars.  I like the challenge of rwd, and also like the way an rwd can drive a straight line if needed.  Overdriving the rear makes the car really hard to drive straight.  It doesn't feel right.

I do have a steel spool locker in the rear of my rally drifter.  And I'm currently running a one-way up front.  Works awesome for rally.  Great for my basement track too.  Not so well on that big track we made in the parking lot.

This is just my opinion.   O0

I give you credit on the rwd drifter, It is something I want to try at somepoint. But from what I have learnt with CS(overdriving the rear) you can go as crazy as you want, but the closer you are to the people you are tandeming with, the easier it is to keep pace and the same line.

And for the alignment issue, i found this website that explains for 1:1 but can easily be used for 1:10

countersteer: 50% so 1.5
shocks front: tamiya yellow shocks rear: tamiya silver (kit springs)
