IMPORTFEST JUNE8 VANCOUVER
« on: May 24, 2013, 09:48:14 PM »
Hey guys,
One10drift will be hosting a drift demo at Importfest which is one of the biggest car shows in Canada. However, that can only happen if there are enough people to help with setup and come to drift. It will be at the Rocky Mountaineer train station in Vancouver. We will be indoors so it will happen regardless of weather. We can get there to setup at 7am and the show will end at 11pm. PLEASE POST BELOW if you are able to make it otherwise the show will be cancelled.

We are in!
LEDS will be mandatory (if you cant get it pm me)
It will be $10 for the whole day from the morning to 11pm
We will need drifters to help us setup or teardown
Tires: Ideally it will be HPI T-drifts but it is not strict as it isnt a competition, however, if we find a driver much faster/ slower than the rest of the drivers, then we will ask you to change tires.

H ha! I don't hate lights. I just don't have a woody for them like some do..

But if they are " mandatory" I will  put some on my car. Might not be the fancy "blinky blinky" stuff others run but......

Again I am unsure of wether I will make this event but I will make every effort to join in. I have a lot to learn and I will respect the rules and practices of the Club. Hope this all works out. It looks to be a great event to attend.

I think the wording may come off as a little harsh. I've never seen anyone booted from a one10drift comp for not having lights.

But when it comes to drift comps especially in a public forum (car shows etc...) Scale is absolutely paramount 'cause it's more a show for spectators as they typically roll out the full track, street lights, buildings etc... y'know what i mean?

Again, i wouldn't say they are ABSOLUTELY necessary, but the idea is to promote scale realism, at least in that environment, or at least promote a minimum standard (trimmed body post, panel lines things like that).

Given the rarity of Comps. Think about it like getting all dressed up for a date  ;)

Back when I was dating it was more about the getting undressed....

My Evo has clear lenses so I'll get something going just in case I get to attend this event. Work has a tendency to spoil my fun.....

Is this for fun or is this going to be a comp?

If it's a comp what is the format?

New to drifting and never even been to a drift comp
