Touring Car Racing?

A buddy and I are grooving on our 1/10 scale Touring Cars. We are wondering if there is any racing going on? A novice class? Clubs?

RRR does racing in the summer on Sundays at bcits parking lot in Richmond. There won't be racing this Sunday and next Sunday as we will be traveling to the US for some races.

Overgeared Racing does racing in winter, from mid September to April, in a church in Richmond and we run every two weeks on Saturdays.

A novice class can definitely be added! Or you can join in on some slower classes like VTA. Feel free to ask anymore questions.

Cool! We will make it out for a few events for sure. Is the a rule book or info page online that will explain the classes and spec's? I'll gig around on this site for now but I would hate to show up with a car that is not legal.

Thanks dude! That is some great info. I will put together a car and come out as time allows.

I dug around and found some cool videos of some of your events. They really got me pumped to give racing a try. Up until a few days ago I always wondered how you guys could control your cars so well. My buddy WTFox and I slapped some sticky tires on our drift cars and chalked out a few tracks. ( Not as big as yours but...) We are starting to get the hang of it but have a long way to go. Ha ha!

Soon... soon...

So after jumping from Facebook to RC Tech and then back and forth till my head hurts I hear the 11th of August may be your next race day. Well at this point I have the day off. So....

I'll start putting a car together and if work leaves me alone I will be there. Looking forward to meeting you all. ....

We still need to get together and finalize the rules and classes for this winter season. There are also races in Victoria and Seattle if you are interested in traveling to race.

Both my crawlers are down right now. I hate to say this but crawling has taken the back seat for RC fun for me. Drifting and "Sticky Tire" are fast becoming my passion.....

Ha ha! Mike is not serious at the best of times.  I know he is joking but others might not. And he has switched between RC interests himself so he knows it happens. I would never take offence at his comments and if others knew him better neither would they.

The Crawler guys are all a tight group. Awesome guys that would give you the shirt of their backs to help you out. They also ride each other and joke around a lot. We call each other names and make fun of each other. I should know. As the only Losi guy in the group they razzed me hard. I gave it back twice as hard.

I will be back with my Shaft Drive Losi CC but for the 11th I want to try something different....  I am really grooving on the TC thing and need to try it out.  There will be days that do not conflict and and I can spread around the RC love.

Crawling, Drifting and TC are what I enjoy. I just need to find the balance with work, family and friends......

You know it Mike! I will never give up Crawling that is for shure. I just lost intrest in the MOA hype. I am going back to Shafty with my Comp Crawler. Will keep the dig but can always pull the plug for Sportsman if the need is there. I will try making it out for some Ioco fun soon and still plan on playing this winter when we go indoors. Work and RC projects are keeping me busy. The race day on the 11th has me pumped so I am heading that way for now.....

In fact my wife has a friend in Salt Spring that has a 10 year old kid. He has hooked up with Copious and has an intrest in Crawling. He wants a rig and his mum asked me if I could keep an eye out for a good deal for him. I m building home a Losi Night Crawler based Sporty. It's a budget build to get him started. WTFox is throwing in some shocks and I have enough electronics to set up the rest of the rig. I figured I would help get him started. The Night Crawler still has parts available from Losi and it is a great rig as a starter. It is a bit of a "basher" with the plastic links and strong chassis. He will have to step it up with a better servo down the road. The ESC and NiMh batteries I am giving him will eventually need upgrading as well. But for free he can't complain....
