From my experience in research 1/10 sc associated all the way. Now I'm more into understanding brands and style I'dlike to do the switch from my 2wd slash to sc10 2wd also but 4wd iI think sc10 is the way to go. Losi for 1/8 has some wicked truggy and buggies. The project you saw at my house the other night was a sc10

How do you like driving? Heavy throttle or finesse? If you want to drive smoothly grab a sc10, or if you want a truck that can swap paint and still hold a line grab the losi. Before a you pick figure out your driving style and go from there.

Iv been leaning more towards the sc10 also. I do t really know my driving style because iv only really bashed my trucks. What about motor esc combo? I was looking at the tekin r8 but it pretty expensive, there is also the new castle sct esc 3800kv combo and it is waterproof.

For esc the rx8 is pretty hard to beat. Doesn't heat up much at all. The mmp is good too. I've used both. For a motor I'd recommend between a 3500-4000 540 size. Or there are 5.5-4.5 550 2 pole motors that do well. Also a beastly tenshock sc411 4000-5200 motors (I have 4600)

Hey tim, what about the tekin 550 pro4hd 4300kv, will it fit and will it be overkill?

Still much to go. Haven't looked at the shocks yet.
Need a bunch of parts.
Tires wheels springs and such.
I think the most important thing that I'm waiting
For are the split hex things for the axles.
I won't run it with out them.

Yes it is a 540.  Good eye.
I'm still learning. I hope I have the correct spur in
The kit. I'll dibble check when I get home from work.
I didn't say it on the box or web sight.
I had to look it up on A Main.
What do the numbers represent?
540
550
Have you made you're choice?

The pro4hd should be quiet similar to my tenshock sc411 4600kv. It's quiet fast. As you saw it next to your 3s exo, that's was limited to 80% and geared 13-60 <- mike that would be a good start for you possibly a 14 (have an extra one if you pm me)  stock spur in kit is a 62. Ae makes 3 for our truck 62-60-58 I like the 13-60 best. I get the most traction and torque with it. A 58 might be ok with a 12 pinion, but how fast do I really need to go. I was still thinking of lowering esc to 75. It's a beast runs at 140* full tilt start to stop. 550s are awesome, just don't expect to get into a roar event is all. Btw nice truck mike!
