I know there are on and off road racing clubs in the lower mainland. But are there any
rock crawling clubs?

I remember that Pipeous is trying to get a mini rock-crawling club of some sorts.  I don't know how that is coming along though...

That would be great. Good idea but how could it be competitive?

I read an article in one of the RC Magazines about a month ago - apparently they've come up with a scoring system for crawling. It basically involves setting up gates on a rock course and then you are timed while trying to get through the gates.

Each missed gate, use of reverse beyond a certain distance, or human assist costs you additional penalty time which is added on to the end of your run.

It sounded like fun - If I come across the article again I'll send it your way.

we have been looking at the gate system, rock crawling is technique. there will only be 1 or 2 people to make it through all the gates. there are quite a few txt1's that are stretched around, as well as other bigger trucks. we are just doing 1/18 scale and some 1/24 scale stuff.

rock crawling has become my addiction now..I bought Ronny's Codl crawler for a very good price..right now it's being improved to comp level but I tell ya, you don't have to complain about places to go..anywhere is perfect..the local beach rocks are the best.

Theres a group of guys in Oregon that are hardcore..and theres a guy on the Island buildin custom stuff...  www.thercguy.com

Maybe one day we can start our own group...so afr the best place I've seen is lighthouse park in west van...a bit like Moab

http://www.a-tech.cc/eng/main.php

we are going to run a class of the leo x. stock and factory options. We can go a lot of places with these. a day of crawling could be runs with different classes too

I had a tlt stretched out. pretty cool. cheap locker is just flip a gear in dif and call it done. don't need to be glued shut.
