That engine block was milled from a single solid piece of heat treated billet aluminum.
And weighs less than 100lbs.

Its amazing what some people are capable of creating given the right technology.

ya thats what i was thinking, not sure if anyone has seen the new concept motor that is labelled a "constant comubstion" engine. has no crankshaft, weighs 100 pounds and produces 800hp. i had a video of it, but can;t find the link.

NIceeeeeee, LMAO.!!  See that i didn't know....so interesting engines are.  And they just keep gettin interesting....Wait a few years cause I'm  hoping this diesel drag racing takes off big.  I seen one at Mission recently in a top fuel style car...twin turbos that were 3 times the size of my hand!! Shocked  I didn't know it was diesel till it blew black out the exhaust! YUCk!!

Turbo's in a dragster?!?

Nothing beats instant power right off the line like a roots blower. Only thing that arguably comes close is a whipple-type supercharger. A whipple might not be able to crank out the raw amt of psi that those roots blowers give out.

Alot of guys spray nitrous to get the turbos to spool almost instantly.

Although there is nothing quite like the sound of a supercharger howling away up the 1/4 mile.  Cool

Constant combustion, no crank, I guess maybe it's like a jet turbine engine? I couldn't find any info on it...

that would be awesome if it was rotary....those engines are quick but they eat a lot of fuel up but anything will with that horsepower I suppose.  I had my speakers cranked and that link scared the crap out me.!!

I remember seeing that engine before.

Its made by a company called Revetec.

Not quite sure about the 800hp claim, but they say it makes about 3x as much torque as a conventional engine of the same size.
