XR10 turns Bully
« on: February 07, 2014, 08:46:48 AM »
Hey guys here is a link to my new build.

Going from my XR10 Chaotic Smash to the new Bully2 axles and the new Reptile chassis.
It will be very interesting to change over to the new bully2's

I'm looking forward to the challenge of getting this new rig up to where my xr was.

May be a dumb question but why the change over?

Not a dumb question bud

With the decline of xr stuff out there I thought i'd tryout something different.
Just in case things for the xr completely disappear I'll have a idea of which direction I would go.  ;D

Also for the price of these you can't really go wrong  ;D
There dirt cheap in comparasion to building a set of xr10 diff

I don't really see things for the xr completely disappearing anytime soon hopfully.

also No one around here drives a Bully or a Berg and hell I like to be different lol

So I will give these a try and see what I can do with them.

The xr axles aren't going anywhere soon just in case these don't work out, and if they don't I will be ordering up a set of XR10 links for the Reptile and carry on.  ;D

As for changing chassis
that wasn't the plan to start with
But with chaotic closing there shop I couldn't fined any Bully/berg links

As no one else had made any for the smash other than chaotic, so I was kinda stuck.

I have been watching the reptile chassis since it came out and i'm very impressed so far on it's performance.

I am very excited to get going on this build. ;D

Just got to figured out how to shave them bully diffs down, as they are quite abit heavier than the xr's
Guessing around 3oz's heavier in total  :(

Yeah I was surprised to hear about chaotic closing as they produce some top notch stuff.  I'm sure there must me a way to cut that weight either in the gears or internals, I'm told the center case is thick material. I look forward to seeing how this turns out, and how good the steering is.

Got some of the alum screws I need for the new build yesterday,
So got right to work replacing screws.

Just changing out the button head was a savings of-
 12grams on the front
5grams on the rear

need to order the socket head screws
now just need to find what size they are  ::)
